Here are just some of the reasons why I am NOT a Jehovah's Witness.

1. The Jehovah's Witnesses teach their followers that Jesus Christ is not God but was only a man.

The Bible says otherwise (John 1:1, 14; 5:18; 8:24; 10:30; 20:28; Col. 2:8-9; etc. etc..) Jesus said in John 8:24 that unless a person believes that He is the God of the Old Testament who spoke to Moses (Ex. 3:14) they will die in their sins (be lost and go to hell).

2. The Jehovah's Witnesses teach their followers that Hell is simply the grave.

What does the Bible say?

Luke 16:23-24 And IN HELL he lift up his eyes, being in torments ... And he cried and said ... I am tormented in this flame.

3. The Jehovah's Witnesses teach their followers that Jesus did not rise from the dead in a physical body.

What does the Bible say?

Luke 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

John 2:19, 21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. But he spake of the temple of his body.

1 Corinthians 15:17 And if Christ be not raised (physically), your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

4. The Jehovah's Witnesses "New World Translation" is corrupt and bears little resemblance to the true Bible.

They have removed the deity of Christ in 1 Tim. 3:16; Phil. 2:6; Acts 20:28; Heb. 1:8 and a number of other places. They have removed the fact that Jesus was worshiped in Matt. 8:2; 9:18; 14:33; 15:25; 28:9; 28:17; etc.. They have changed the word of God to line up with their false teachings wherever they wanted with no regard to what scripture actually says.

5. The Jehovah's Witnesses teach their followers that unbelievers will be annihilated and there is no such thing as eternal punishment.

What does the Bible say?

Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into EVERLASTING PUNISHMENT: but the righteous into life eternal.

Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their TORMENT ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have NO REST DAY OR NIGHT ...

6. The Jehovah's Witnesses teach their followers that the doctrine of the Trinity is false.

What does the Bible say?

1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and THESE THREE ARE ONE.

7. The Jehovah's Witnesses teach "soul sleep", that there is no conscious existence after death until the resurrection.

The Bible teaches otherwise (2 Cor. 5:8; Psa.16:11; Luke 23:43; Phil. 1:23; Luke 16:22,25).

8. The Jehovah’s Witnesses have falsely prophesied the end of the world multiple times (1914, 1925, 1975).

The Bible says that if anyone makes even one false prophecy that does not come to pass, they are a false prophet (Deut. 18:21-22) and we are not to listen to them. One of their worst false teachings is that Jesus returned invisibly to earth in 1914 and is meeting in secret with the leaders of their organization. What does the Bible say?

Matthew 24:26-27 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

9. The Jehovah’s Witnesses teach salvation by faith plus works and that only Jehovah’s Witnesses can be saved.

What does the Bible say?

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

10. The Jehovah’s Witnesses teach that The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is God’s sole organization on earth and that no one can understand the Bible without their writings.

What does the Bible say to all believers?

1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

This is just a small sample of the many false teachings of the Jehovah’s Witnesses organization.
