The following portions of scripture (marked in bold) are missing from the
text of the New American Standard Version (NASV). This list represents just a
small sample of the numerous omissions.
MISSING IN THE GOSPELS
1. Matthew 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause
shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever
shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
2. Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your
enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and
pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
3. Matthew 15:8 This people
draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and
honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far
from me.
4. Matthew 19:9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for
fornication, and shall marry another, committeth
adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away
doth commit adultery.
5. Matthew 20:7 They say
unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto
them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye
receive.
6. Matthew 20:16 So the last
shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
7. Matthew 20:22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup
that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am
baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.
8. Matthew 20:23 And he saith
unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism
that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is

10. Matthew
27:35 And

MISSING IN ACTS & ROMANS
1. Acts 2:30 Therefore
being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of
the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to
sit on his throne;
2. Acts 9:5-6 And he
said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am
Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee
to kick against the pricks. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what
wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the
city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
3. Acts 10:6 He lodgeth
with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee
what thou oughtest to do.
4. Acts 10:32 Send therefore to Joppa, and call
hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a
tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.
5. Acts 15:24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that
certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your
souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave
no such commandment:
6. Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me,
neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with
